Posting consistently is the part of social media most brands struggle with. Not because ideas run out, but because every post is planned, made and scheduled on the day it’s due. A monthly content calendar fixes that, and AI makes building one fast enough to actually do every month.
Here’s a workflow that turns one planning session into a month of on-brand posts.
1. Set three to five content pillars
Pillars are the recurring themes your brand talks about. They keep a calendar varied without being random. For a skincare brand, they might be:
- Product: launches, how-tos and close-ups.
- Education: ingredients, routines, myths.
- Behind the scenes: the team, the lab, the making.
- Community: customer stories and reposts.
Give each pillar a rough share of the month so no single theme takes over.
2. Map the month’s key dates
Before filling slots, mark what’s fixed: launches, sales, events, seasonal moments and anything your audience already cares about that month. These become anchor posts, and the rest of the calendar supports them.
3. Choose channels and a cadence you can keep
Consistency beats volume. Pick the channels where your audience actually is, then a frequency you can sustain for months, not weeks.
| Day | Post | Format | Channel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Ingredient explainer | Carousel | Instagram, LinkedIn |
| Wednesday | Product close-up | 9:16 reel | Instagram, TikTok |
| Thursday | Behind the scenes | Story | |
| Saturday | Customer routine | 4:5 post | Instagram, Facebook |
An example week. Repeat the pattern, and swap in anchor posts where key dates fall.
4. Batch-create with AI
Once every slot has an idea, create in batches instead of one post at a time. With AI you can generate on-brand images and short videos for a whole week in one session, sized for each channel. Use the same brand kit every time: colors, typefaces, logo placement and visual style.
Batching is where the time goes. One focused session replaces twenty interrupted ones.
5. Write captions for each channel
The same post needs different words on different platforms. Instagram captions can be warm and short with a handful of hashtags; LinkedIn wants a clear point and a bit more context; TikTok captions support the video rather than repeat it. Ask AI for one caption per channel in your brand voice, then edit, don’t rewrite.
6. Schedule, review, publish
Load the month into a scheduler, review everything once in calendar view, and approve it. Reviewing the whole month at once makes gaps and repetition obvious.
7. Learn and plan the next month
At month end, look at which pillars and formats earned the most engagement and reach. Shift next month’s mix toward them, and drop what didn’t work.
